I’m in the ‘Big Apple’ on a whistle-stop, one-day visit to view what I hear is an exciting alliance between Diageo Global Travel & Middle East and DFS. More of that in coming days.
On my way out of London Heathrow Airport Terminal 3, I toured as always the World Duty Free store.
The liquor department, as I’ve said before, could do with a radical overhaul of its sight lines – these days it feels a little like walking through Hampden Court maze – but there’s some great brand activity going on.
My eye was particularly drawn to the high-profile promotion taking place with fast-growing Russian Standard vodka. I won’t tell you too much as there’s a big event planned on Monday with a special guest and I don’t want to ruin the surprise.

But I will tell you this – the Russian Standard promotion at T3 with Rémy Cointreau Global Travel Retail is one of the best you will ever see in this industry. Watch this space.
